Day 21: You have a mission...

One of the greatest truths about the fact that Jesus has risen is that it means we get a new start, a new beginning a do over.

Peter found this out. He had denied Jesus three times on the night that Jesus was arrested. He felt that his life was over. He felt that there was no hope. He thought that he had blown it so badly that Jesus would not want him and definitely would not have anything for him to do. This was not true.

Jesus met with him and some other disciples for breakfast one morning and Peter got the shock of his life. Jesus still had a mission for him to accomplish.

The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. (John 21:17)

The resurrected Lord still had a purpose and mission for Peter. Peter, the one who had denied him, still mattered to Jesus and still had work to do.

You matter to Jesus-regardless of what you have done. You matter to Jesus, he still has a purpose for your life today. You have something to accomplish that matters for eternity.

Take up that purpose and let that be what motivates you today and every day for the rest of your life.
